Fare counter
c.1940s/50's, Electric Service Mfg Co.
This fare counter, similar to the type used on trolleys in the first half of the 1900's, may later have been used to count admission to amusement park rides, perhaps in Santa Cruz (several of these have turned up in the Bay Area). The one clue to its age (or when it was last refurbished) is that the postal code 'Philadelphia 32' came into existence only in 1948 - an early form of zip code.
